Faith Temple Moral Issues and Concerns Department

Mission Statement:  We are a group of believers of Christ who believe in defending traditional family values and our own religious liberties.  We acknowledge our freedom of expression of religion, given to us 1st by our Creator, Jesus Christ, and 2nd by our founding fathers through our   Constitution’s 1st Amendment.  One of our purposes is to support legislation which defends these traditional family values and religious liberties.

Main Issues of Concern:

1.     Defending the Sanctity of Life: We are against Abortion and Federal and State funding of abortion, destroying of embryonic stem cells, and euthanasia of the sick and elderly.  We are for parental notification laws, and adult stem cell research. Jeremiah 1:5, Psalm 139

2.     Defending Traditional Marriage:  We support Federal and State Laws that declare that marriage is the union of one man and one woman.  Genesis 2:20.

3.     Defending against expansion of “Hate Crime” and “Employment Non- Discrimination” Legislation:  These laws are attempting to expand and include “sexual orientation” and “gender identity”.  If these laws are passed, Pastors have, and could be charged with “Hate Crimes” and jailed for teaching one of many biblical passages addressing homosexuality or fined by refusing to employ homosexuals in the church or schools.  (Choosing a homosexual lifestyle is does not qualify as a “Civil Right”.)

4.     Social and Economic Justice:  We must work towards a system that guides us in how to alleviate domestic poverty and ensure justice at home by reasserting our mission to help the working poor, orphans, widows, single mothers, and the destitute in finding spiritual and financial refuge.  Leviticus 19:10 & 34.

5.     Racial Reconciliation: We must elect leaders who will take the steps necessary to cultivate racial harmony and diversity by developing partnerships across racial lines and raising up minority leaders in key political positions Galatians 3:28.

6.      Parents Rights:  To be advised and have ultimate authority about their child’s education and healthcare.
